Children represent a family’s hope for the future. When a diagnosis of a life-limiting illness is given for a child, it must seem as if nothing makes sense. Community Hospice of Texas recognizes this as one of the most difficult journeys a family can face.
Hospice services are available to anyone of any age. Community Hospice of Texas’ Pediatric Care Team specializes in the needs of children, infants through early adulthood, who suffer from cancer, neurological disorders, diseases of the heart and lungs, neonatal diseases and congenital abnormalities.
Our team of pediatric specialists works with your child’s pediatrician, specialists, therapists and other caregivers and encourages their continued involvement in your child’s care. Although you’ve chosen hospice care, you may continue to explore additional or complementary treatment such as radiation, clinical trials or other supportive therapies.
We know there’s no place like home, especially for children. Community Hospice of Texas will provide support and education to help you care for your child in the comfortable and familiar surroundings of home. In addition to expert medical care for your child, we offer emotional and spiritual support for the entire family.
Because their life matters, we believe in balancing comfort with joy. Children are encouraged to be a kid or young adult by continuing normal activities, such as going to school, spending time with friends and going on family outings. Amid the illness, we want you to continue creating memories.
