Family Scores with the Rex King Memorial Cup Soccer Tournament

FORT WORTH, TX, December 26, 2019 – Rex King never missed his children’s soccer games and carried on the tradition when his son, Mike King, became Timber Creek High School girls’ soccer coach.

The two had a post-game chat after every match, so Mike knew something was wrong when his dad left a game without a word.

The next morning, his father was in agony. Within hours, the family learned Rex King had advanced cancer. He was referred to Community Hospice of Texas Hospice House Downtown located in Forth Worth soon after, and the care Rex King received there formed a bond that has been helping others since 2012.

His children, Kaye Nazarko and coach Mike King organize the annual Rex King Memorial Cup Soccer Tournament, a youth soccer tournament that draws teams from across the state to benefit Community Hospice of Texas and coach a new generation of athletes in the game of giving. 

The Rex King Memorial Cup Soccer Tournament is scheduled for January 9-11 at Timber Creek High School Stadium, 12350 Timberland Blvd. in Fort Worth. All proceeds benefit the Community Hospice of Texas Hospice house and support care for the uninsured and others in financial need.
