Local Hospice Provider Hosts 2nd Annual ‘Lights of Love’ Event
Community Healthcare of Texas – Providence Hospice, the state’s largest not-for-profit hospice and palliative provider, is proud to announce its 2nd annual “Lights of Love” luminary event is returning on Thursday, November 9, at 5:30 p.m., at the Waco Suspension Bridge. Starting at the bridge entrance at Indian Spring Park, the organization will light up this historic Waco landmark with luminaries, each in honor or memory of a cherished person’s life. From there, the community is invited to stroll across the bridge for a self-guided luminary walk.
Families, friends, and community members are also invited to participate by registering a personalized luminary in memory or honor of a loved one at www.chot.org/lights-oflove. For each $25 donation, a personalized luminary will be placed on the bridge. Luminary registration is open until October 26. All proceeds support compassionate care for pediatric and adult patients across the Waco area facing a serious or life-limiting illness.
Sonya Wilson, Volunteer Coordinator at Community Healthcare of Texas – Providence Hospice, expressed the organization’s enthusiasm for the event, saying, “Lights of Love is an occasion for our community to come together, remember and honor the lives of our loved ones, and find solace in shared experiences. It’s a way to ensure that the memories of those we love continue to shine brightly in our hearts.”
