The time you give to share your talents with Community Healthcare of Texas will touch the lives of others in deeply meaningful ways. You can make a difference through:
- Direct patient services – Visit with patients to offer friendship and companionship and give needed respite time for caregivers, run errands or help with light household work.
- Interpreter – Facilitate communication between palliative care and hospice professionals and families through staff visits and/or phone calls.
- Grief support/bereavement – Assist with plans for bereavement activities and events including gatherings and memorial services or offer support for families through phone calls and cards.
- Community outreach – Be a face of Community Healthcare of Texas in the community by helping at health fairs and conferences.
People feel compelled to volunteer their time and talents for many reasons. Whatever your reason for volunteering with us, we want you to feel confident serving your community and the needs of our patients and families.
Community Healthcare of Texas provides comprehensive training and support to prepare you to meet the special needs of patients facing a life-limiting illness and their families. You will gain confidence and knowledge to make your service experience meaningful and rewarding.
There is no cost for training and sessions are offered throughout the year for your convenience.
