Community Healthcare of Texas – Providence Hospice Named a 2021 Hospice Honors Recipient
WACO, TX, August 25, 2021 – Community Healthcare of Texas – Providence Hospice, the largest not-for-profit hospice provider in the state, has been named a 2021 Hospice Honors recipient by HEALTHCAREfirst, a leading provider of billing and coding services, CAHPS surveys, and advanced analytics. Hospice Honors is a prestigious program that recognizes hospices providing the highest level of quality as measured from the caregiver’s point of view.
Serving 25 counties across the North Central Texas region, Community Healthcare of Texas – Providence Hospice has cared for seriously ill pediatric and adult patients since 1996. The Hospice Honors Award specifically recognizes the organization’s Waco, Mexia, and Whitney locations.
“Hospice Honors recipients are industry leaders in providing quality care and constantly seeking ways to improve,” said Ronda Howard, Vice President Revenue Cycle and CAHPS at HEALTHCAREfirst. “We are honored to be aligned with such high performing agencies like Community Healthcare of Texas – Providence Hospice, and we congratulate them on their success.”
Award criteria were based on Hospice CAHPS survey results for an evaluation period of October 2019 through September 2020. Award recipients were identified by evaluating performance on a set of 24 quality indicator measures. Performance scores were aggregated from all completed surveys and were compared on a question-by-question basis to a National Performance Score calculated from all hospices contained in the HEALTHCAREfirst’s Hospice CAHPS database. Hospice Honors recipients include those hospices scoring above the HEALTHCAREfirst National Performance Score on 20 of the evaluated questions.
Viki Jingle, Community Healthcare of Texas – Providence Hospice Chief Executive Officer, credits the organization’s longstanding and ongoing commitment to excellence in compassionate end-of-life care services as the key to their success. “For more than 25 years, caring for patients and their families has been our priority,” she said. “As a not-for-profit provider, we can remain fully focused on the patient and finding new and innovative ways to deliver care throughout the communities we serve.”
