Nuestra historia
In 1996 leaders from Harris Hospital, The Daughters of Charity (now Ascension Providence), and Huguley Hospital (now a Texas Health Resource partner) all had a vision. They dreamed of creating a not-for-profit community-based hospice dedicated to providing the highest quality end-of-life care services for children and adults across the Dallas, Fort Worth, and Waco communities.
Ese sueño se hizo realidad el 1 de mayo de 1996, cuando se constituyó el mayor centro de cuidados paliativos sin ánimo de lucro del estado: Community Hospice of Texas en la zona de DFW y Providence Hospice en la región de Waco.
In 2019, we changed our name in all markets to Community Healthcare of Texas. This name change reflected our ongoing commitment to providing the best care for patients and families as they navigate their healthcare needs when diagnosed with a serious or terminal illness. It also allows us the opportunity to expand and improve on our mission and goals in an ever-changing healthcare environment.
As the largest not-for-profit hospice and palliative care organization in Texas, we are proud to offer adult and pediatric palliative care and hospice services to our patients and their families.
As the first pediatric hospice provider in the DFW and Waco areas, we pioneered care for children facing a life-limiting illness. Today, our Little Doves Pediatric Hospice Program serves children from pre-birth to young adulthood, and we remain the sole provider of pediatric hospice care in the Waco area.
In partnership with Texas Health Resources, Community Healthcare of Texas has two office locations and one inpatient facility serving 11 counties in the Dallas/Fort Worth/Cleburne metroplex.
In partnership with Ascension Health, Community Healthcare of Texas-Providence Hospice serves 13 counties in the Waco and Central Texas area.
Since November 2003, Community Healthcare of Texas has been accredited for quality home and community care by the Community Health Accreditation Program, Inc. (CHAP).
